Wooden Boat Repair And Restoration
Storm Damage Restoration While you clean up, you will want to wear protective gear. Get a good pair of thick disposable plastic gloves for touching things that are really dirty. For a lot of the work, though, you will want to wear leather gloves which will will protect your hands from sharp objects. You will also want to wear a N-95 respirator, and goggles or protective eyewear. Finally get throwaway plastic clothing that will cover your whole body and thick rubber boots.
Fire and Smoke Damage Restoration The first and probably most important step is to turn the power off. Call your power company and have them turn off the electricity. The last thing you want to do is begin your clean up in standing water with the electricity still on. If water is still flowing make sure to turn off the water also. Remove all fabrics. This includes rugs and any other floor coverings that you are able to remove. These items can retain a lot of water so you need to get them out of there and set them up for drying. Hang them somewhere if possible. Also remove any other fabrics such as bed covers, curtains, towels, clothing, etc. Any type of fabrics that can or are holding water need to be removed from the area. |
