Finding out what any particular state is charging potential cannabis growers to get into business can be daunting at times. Some states make their costs simple to find and simple to digest. Others can spend some time digging through page after page on various websites.
Note, too, that some states are not constantly accepting any brand-new cannabis growing business license applications. Those windows of schedule open and close at various times in each state.
With that, here are the growing service application and licensing charges for the 33 states that enable medical cannabis and, in many cases, adult-use cannabis organizations. We will upgrade this post as charge structures change in U.S. state-regulated markets; let us know what additional application and licensing information you ‘d like to see on this post.

New application charge: $1,000
Standard growing facility license: $5,000 (Renewal: $7,000)
Limited growing center license (500 square feet or less): $1,000 (Renewal: $1,400)
Product manufacturing center license: $1,000
Concentrate production facility license: $1,000
Application fee: $5,000 ($1,000 of which is refundable if unsuccessful in the application process)

In Arizona, medical cannabis nonprofit dispensary licensees are allowed to grow cannabis. The fee for medical cannabis not-for-profit dispensary licensees to move into the brand-new adult-use market is $25,000.

In Florida, medical cannabis treatment centers (MMTCs) are licensed to cultivate, procedure, transportation and dispense medical cannabis. A «additional licensing charge» of $174,844 was rescinded in 2018.

In Hawaii, medical cannabis dispensary licensees are permitted to grow, procedure, transportation and dispense cannabis. The state does not offer a growing license.
For early approval adult-use: Non-refundable license charge: $100,000;
Cannabis company advancement fund fee: 5% of total sales in between July 1, 2018 to July 1, 2019 or $500,000, whichever is less.
For new entrants to the marketplace: Craft growers have to pay a non-refundable application fee of $5,000 and a license cost of $40,000
No cultivation licensing procedure. Two cannabis business have actually successfully placed quotes for growing permits awarded to Southern University and Louisiana State University.

Missouri started accepting medical cannabis company license applications in January 2019. Since early 2021, the state is no longer accepting applications.
